Installation
Every Flint fitting should be installed by a qualified electrician. That is not a disclaimer — mains wiring in a UK home is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations in some circumstances, and always worth doing properly.
What comes in the box
The fitting, the fixings, wall plugs, and printed instructions with the dimensions and fixing centres. Bulbs are only included where the product page says so.
What your electrician will want to know
The fixing centres and backplate size, which are on every product page under Dimensions and materials, and in the downloadable specification sheet. The lamp type and maximum wattage. Whether the fitting is Class I (needs an earth) or Class II (does not). All of it is listed before you buy.
Dimmers
Most of our fittings dim, but only with a compatible LED bulb and the right dimmer — almost always trailing edge. The product page names the bulbs we have actually tested. Using an untested bulb is the usual reason an LED flickers or buzzes.
Bathrooms
Bathroom zones have rules, and they are simpler than they look. Each product page states its IP rating and which zones it may be used in. Your electrician should confirm the zoning for your room — the standard is BS 7671.
